Joint Pain

The body is full of bony joints from the very large hip joint to the tiny carpal joints in the wrists. There are all kinds of reasons that your joints may hurt and ache or feel stiff. Joints can hurt from strains and injuries, arthritis and ill health, side effects of medications, infection or an underlying condition particularly if a few joints are affected, especially if both sides of the body.

When you come in to see us we will take an extensive case history to help us understand the cause of your joint pain and areas involved. We check your ranges of movement and joint health, then discuss treatment options for you.

Osteopaths help treat and reduce tension around joints themselves, improving movement and circulation. Surrounding muscles can become stiff and ache when there is joint pain or dysfunction and we can work with this to ease away your symptoms and give advice to help you take care of your joints and bone health.
